A research project by Purdue shows that a big drain of Android phone's batteries is the ads served by free apps. If you want your android battery life to last longer, buy apps.Bought apps don't usually come with ads. The Purdue research shows the battery drain of the ads is up to three times the drain of running the actual app. 10 - 30 percent of the battery used by popular free apps is from actually running the app.          Click Here for full article
